Los Angeles City College Foundation Honors the Class of 2024 at Commencement Ceremony
On June 4, the Los Angeles City College held its Commencement Ceremony at the historic Greek Theatre in Los Angeles. Over 1,000 students crossed the stage, receiving their associates degrees and certificates.
The keynote speaker Miguel A. Santana, President and CEO of the California Community Foundation, delivered an inspiring speech. He, while congratulating the students on their incredible achievements, implored them not to rest on their laurels. He issued a call to action to become the changemakers of their generation and make a lasting positive impact on their communities.
This year for the first time, the Los Angeles City College Foundation introduced the Spring 2024 Completion Award. This offered emergency assistance to students facing financial challenges while completing their studies and graduating. This award supported fee reconciliation and helped with basic needs, ensuring that students enrolled for the spring semester could focus on their academic goals and achievements.
“Your support is an inspiration, and I am committed to making the most of this opportunity to excel academically and contribute positively to my community. Thank you for believing in my potential and helping me achieve my educational goals.”
