Alumni Spotlight: 2024 Valedictorian Samantha Daisher
Valedictorian Samantha Daisher is a Communications major with a business minor who recently graduated from Los Angeles City College. She chose this path through a desire to help people, overcome speech impediments and nurture empathy through effective communication. Her goal is to give back to her community by establishing a foundation focusing on speech therapy.
Samantha chose LACC for its welcoming environment and the great variety of program support offered. During her time at LACC, she’s been actively involved in clubs, built meaningful connections with professors, and thrived in the Foundation supporting Ralph Bunche Scholars’ Program.
Community at LACC means more than just a campus to Samantha. It’s a network where faculty and staff genuinely care, offering continuous support and resources that make a difference in students’ lives.
Looking ahead, Samantha plans to transfer to University of Southern California (USC), participate in the Travel Abroad Program and potentially pursue a career in academia. Outside of her studies, Samantha enjoys playing softball, volunteering at the Hollywood Food Coalition and salsa dancing.
As a non-traditional student, Samantha credits LACC for the guidance towards her vision and career confidence. From her background in performing arts to becoming a communications leader, Samantha is passionate about helping others.
