Paul Hasting

DJ Moore works in the Century City office of Paul Hastings, where he was promoted to partner in 2025. Mr. Moore practices land use and environmental law, with a particular focus on land use and environmental litigation, real estate development controversies and local government disputes. He provides advice and litigates claims regarding local planning and zoning regulations and related environmental matters, as well as state and federal land use and environmental laws.

Mr. Moore has handled matters involving the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), the Clean Air Act, the California Subdivision Map Act, the California Coastal Act, California’s Unfair Competition Law and California’s “Proposition 65.” He also has experience negotiating and litigating construction and real estate disputes, and in drafting and negotiating construction and architecture contracts. Mr. Moore also advises clients regarding land use entitlements and administrative approvals in jurisdictions throughout Southern California. His clients include private developers, corporations, institutions, and non-profit organizations.

Mr. Moore currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Century City Chamber of Commerce and on Lambda Legal Defense and Education Fund’s Los Angeles Leadership Committee. He previously served on the Executive Committee of the Los Angeles County Bar Association’s Environmental Law Section.

Mr. Moore earned his BA from the University of Virginia with Distinction, and received his JD from the University of Virginia School of Law where he was the Notes Editor, Virginia Journal of Social Policy & the Law. Mr. Moore is a strong advocate for investment in public education, and he is a graduate of the Thomas Jefferson High School for Science & Technology in Alexandria, Virginia – consistently ranked by U.S. News & World Report as the number one public high school in the United States.
