Joan Dangerfield is president of Dangerfield Entertainment and Paper Clip Productions with the following projects currently in development: a feature film based on Rodney Dangerfield’s bestselling autobiography It’s Not Easy Bein’ Me; an episodic series commemorating Rodney’s 100th birthday and his contribution to comedy; and a scripted tv series based on Back To School.

From 2014-2018 Joan served as Chairman of Rockdome, an immersive exhibition technology company with proprietary patents for multi-use entertainment venues.

In 2011-2016 Joan provided consulting services to Chinese companies and hosted an Official Chinese Government Delegation visit to Hollywood which included top executives from China’s largest sovereign wealth fund China Investment Corporation, The Yintai Group, and Tianjin Innovative Finance Investment Company.

Joan developed the first celebrity owned website for Rodney Dangerfield in early 1995 where fans could email him directly and hear a new joke each day to give themselves a “laugh break”. The following year, Rodney was listed as one of the “Top 100 Most Influential People On The Internet” by Website Magazine—ahead of Bill Gates and Al Gore. Most people visiting Rodney’s site in 1995 accessed it at their office computers. The first iPhone was released in 2007 and the first iPad in 2010.

Joan was the creative force behind a launch of a new website honoring Rodney on his birthday November 22, 2013. Along with Beyoncé and Kanye West, Rodney’s new site was one of five nominees for the prestigious Best Celebrity Webby Award and went on to win the International Webby Award for Exhibiting Remarkable Achievement in the Best Navigation/Structure category.  In 2018, another Webby nomination was received for the Best Celebrity Social Website. In 2019, Joan won the Webby for the People’s Voice Event for another site she launched, the Rodney Respect Award website.

Between 1980-1997 Joan owned a number of floral businesses including Childs of London, Fleurs du Jour, and Jungle Roses. She met her future husband at Childs of London in 1983. They wed ten years later and were together until his passing in 2004. In 2006, Joan co-produced the Rodney Dangerfield Biography for A&E.
