Robert Schwartz

Robert Schwartz is the former Executive Director and current member of the Board of Directors of the Los Angeles City College Foundation. While executive director, Mr. Schwartz supervised all aspects of the Foundation’s activities, including oversight of 285 scholarship and award accounts. Foundation activities Mr. Schwartz supervised included the LACC weekend swap meet, operations of the campus coffee shop, campus vending, and he served as campus liaison for all filming activity at the College.

The Los Angeles City College is the flagship campus of the Los Angeles Community College District, which is the largest community college district in the United States. Commencing his role as the executive director of the Foundation in 2011, Mr. Schwartz facilitated significant growth of the LA City College Foundation’s assets from $4.5 million to more than $50 million. This growth included the two largest gifts ever received by a college foundation in the Los Angeles Community College District; a $2 million gift from the Hollywood Foreign Press Association for LACC’s Cinema/Television Department, and a $10.1 million gift from the Herb Alpert Foundation for LACC’s Music Department.

Prior to becoming the Foundation’s executive director, Mr. Schwartz had a successful career in the entertainment industry, serving as VP of Business Affairs at MGM Television, VP and Partner at Paul Kohner Agency, Co-Founder and Partner at Gleneagle Productions, and Co-Founder and CEO of Slamdance Media Group.
