In Memoriam: Robert Winters
The Los Angeles City College community mourns the passing of Robert Winters, whose connection to LACC spanned decades. For over 30 years, Bob inspired generations of students in the Social Sciences Department, teaching economics and U.S. history with passion, care, and dedication. Even in retirement, he remained a devoted steward of the College as Treasurer and Past President of the Foundation Board of Directors, where he served for 55 years.

Bob took immense pride in his students’ success, mentoring and supporting them long after they left his classroom, leaving a lasting impact that continues through their work and lives. Beyond his contributions to LACC, he embraced life fully, traveling the world with his wife, Daulphine, and remained deeply engaged with the community he loved.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude for Robert’s unwavering dedication, leadership, and service. His legacy as an educator, mentor, and advocate for LACC will continue to inspire and guide generations to come.
Rest in peace, Bob. Your life and contributions have left an indelible mark on this community. Those who would like to make a donation to the Foundation in honor of Robert, you can do so by clicking here.
