Robert Winters Steps Down As LACCF Treasurer

As we bid farewell to Robert “Bob” Winters in his role as Treasurer of the LACC Foundation, we do so with deep gratitude and admiration for a lifetime of service to Los Angeles City College and its community.

Robert’s connection to LACC spans decades. As a dedicated educator for 37 years, he inspired generations of students as a member of the Social Sciences Department, teaching economics and U.S. history with passion and care.

Even in retirement, Bob has remained closely connected to the College through his continued service as Treasurer and Past President of the Foundation Board of Directors.

A true steward of LACC’s legacy, Bob has always held a deep appreciation for the College’s history. He was a contributor to the book commemorating LACC’s 50th Anniversary and authored numerous pieces for College publications, helping preserve and celebrate the institution’s story for future generations.

As an educator, Bob took great pride in the success of his students, following their careers long after they left his classroom. One such student, Steve Rundle, went on to earn advanced degrees from California State University, Northridge and the Claremont Graduate School, and is now an associate professor of economics at Biola University, that is just one example of the lasting impact Bob has made as a mentor and teacher.

Since retiring, Robert has embraced life with enthusiasm, traveling throughout northern Europe and the Mediterranean with his wife, Daulphine. When he is not exploring the world or attending to his volunteer duties with the LACC Foundation, he continues to enjoy life and remain engaged with the community he so dearly loves.

We extend our sincerest thanks to Robert Winters for his unwavering dedication, leadership, and service. His contributions have left an indelible mark on LACC and the Foundation, and his legacy will continue to inspire for years to come. We are truly grateful for all that he has given to this beautiful community.
